WHAT IS AQUALYX?<\/h2>\n

Aqualyx is a treatment that breaks up fat cells, and the fat is subsequently removed by the body. This treatment is primarily suitable if you have almost reached your target weight, but still have problem areas that you want to handle. It is an alternative to liposuction.<\/p>\n

WHAT DOES AQUALYX DO?<\/h2>\n

During the procedure, you will get a solution injected that contains an ingredient called desoxycholan acid. That ingredient can also be found in bile to dissolve fat into water. And that is precisely what we want Aqualyx to do. By administering those injections, the walls of your fat cells are broken down and the fat is dissolved. Your body removes the fatty liquid over a period of 2 to 3 weeks.<\/p>\n

WHAT IS AQUALYX USED FOR?<\/h2>\n

This treatment is intended for people who have almost reached their target weight by exercising and dieting, but still have one or more fat areas they want to tackle, because that fat cannot be lost by exercising and healthy eating.<\/p>\n

Areas to be treated:<\/p>\n

  • Hips (Love handles)<\/li>\n
  • Ankles<\/li>\n
  • Chin (Double chin)<\/li>\n
  • Upper arms<\/li>\n
  • Knees<\/li>\n
  • Calves<\/li>\n
  • Cheeks<\/li>\n
  • Neck<\/li>\n
  • Armpits<\/li>\n
  • Waist<\/li>\n
  • Fat pockets on your bottom, chest, back and thighs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    However, this treatment is not suitable for removing a lot of fat. The guideline is 1.5 centimetres of fat between your fingers when pinching the problem area. Your doctor will discuss this with you.<\/p>\n

    IS IT SAFE?<\/h2>\n

    The product has been approved by the competent Dutch authorities and has a CE marking. However, you can\u2019t just walk into any clinic, because the treatment has to be given by specially-trained physicians.<\/p>\n

    DOES AQUALYX HAVE SIDE EFFECTS?<\/h2>\n

    The local side effects that occur most frequently are:<\/p>\n

    • Bruising<\/li>\n
    • Minor hematoma<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      In general, these side effects disappear over a period of 48 hours. If they have not gone after 7 days, you should consult your treating physician.<\/p>\n

      As stated earlier, this treatment is most suitable for people who have almost reached their target weight, but still have areas they want to tackle. In short: if you still have a double chin, despite all your efforts, you are probably a suitable candidate for Aqualyx.<\/p>\n
